1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, registering for, or using MockGen ("Service", "Platform", "we", "us", or "our"), you ("User", "you") agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. Continued use of the Service after any modification to these Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2Definitions

• Service: The MockGen web platform, including all AI-powered features, tools, and pages.
• Subscription Plan: A Free, Pro, Premium, or Elite plan that grants access to specific features and a monthly AI Credit allocation.
• Interview Session: One Mock Interview attempt, made up of one or more Rounds. Round length and count are determined automatically by our system based on your plan and selections, not a fixed menu of durations.
• AI Credits / Wallet: The internal credit system that tracks your monthly AI usage capacity across all features — Mock Interviews, Resume Analysis, and Resume & Goal Checker all draw from the same wallet.
• Billing Cycle: The recurring period (monthly or yearly) for which a subscription is charged.

3Eligibility

• You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service.
• You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under applicable law.
• The Service is currently available to users in India. Payments are processed in Indian Rupees (INR) via Razorpay.
• You must provide accurate and complete information during account registration.

MockGen provides AI-powered career preparation tools including resume analysis, job description matching, and human voice mock interview simulations, drawing from a single monthly AI Credit allocation per plan:

5Interview Session Policy

• Mock Interviews are not allocated as a fixed weekly or monthly session count. Each interview is made up of one or more Rounds, and each Round's length and AI Credit cost are determined automatically by our system based on the round's actual duration — not a fixed menu of session lengths.
• The full AI Credit cost of an interview is deducted upfront, the moment you start it — before any round begins. If you end the interview early, lose connection, or otherwise do not finish, those credits are not refunded.
• Selecting every eligible round for an interview (rather than a subset) may unlock a bundle discount on the total credit cost, shown to you before you start.
• The Free plan's interview is limited to one round, is not resumable once interrupted (e.g. a lost connection), and its credit cost is deducted the same way as any other plan's.
• Interview history, transcripts, and reports remain accessible in your account for as long as your account exists, regardless of plan changes.

6Payments & Subscriptions

• All paid plans are billed in Indian Rupees (INR), inclusive of applicable taxes, via Razorpay.
• We do not store your card, UPI, or banking credentials. Payment data is handled entirely by Razorpay (PCI DSS compliant).
• Monthly plans are billed on the same calendar date each month. If the date does not exist in a given month (e.g., 31st), billing occurs on the last day of that month.
• Yearly plans are billed as a single upfront payment and grant 12 months of access from the date of purchase.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle. By subscribing, you authorize MockGen to charge your selected payment method for the applicable amount at the start of each new cycle. You will not receive a separate notification before each renewal.
• To stop auto-renewal, cancel your subscription from your dashboard before the renewal date. Access continues until the end of the current paid period.
• Plan upgrades take effect immediately. Upgrades are charged on a pro-rata basis for the remainder of the current cycle.
• Plan downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain access to the higher plan until that date.

7Refund Policy

• Monthly plans: All monthly subscription payments are non-refundable. This includes the initial charge and all subsequent auto-renewals. If you do not wish to be charged for the next cycle, you must cancel before the renewal date.
• Yearly plans: A full refund may be requested within 7 calendar days of the initial purchase, provided that fewer than 3 AI sessions (of any feature type) have been consumed. After 7 days or after 3 sessions have been used — whichever occurs first — no refunds are available. Auto-renewed yearly charges are non-refundable.
• Credit packs: All one-time credit pack purchases are non-refundable once the credits have been allocated to your wallet, regardless of whether they have been used.
• Refund requests must be submitted to [email protected] with your registered email address, order ID, and reason for request.
• We reserve the right to deny refund requests that do not meet the above eligibility criteria.
• Chargebacks filed without first contacting our support team may result in permanent account suspension.

8AI Credits & Wallet

• Each user account has an AI Wallet that tracks monthly usage capacity across all AI-powered features.
• Subscription credits are allocated at the start of each billing cycle and reset upon renewal. Unused subscription credits do not carry over.
• Purchased credit packs are added to a separate wallet bucket and do not expire.
• Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or refunded.
• The credit system is an internal mechanism to manage AI usage fairly. Credit costs per feature may be adjusted at our discretion with reasonable notice.

9Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Upload resumes or content that you do not own or have the right to use.
• Share your account credentials or allow others to access your account.
• Use the Service to generate misleading, fraudulent, defamatory, or harmful content.
• Attempt to bypass, reverse-engineer, or circumvent plan limits, rate limits, or security measures.
• Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to make bulk or programmatic requests to the Service.
• Inject malicious prompts, adversarial instructions, or content designed to manipulate our AI systems.
• Upload files containing malware, viruses, or any malicious code.
• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable Indian law or international regulations.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without refund.

10AI-Generated Content

• All AI-generated outputs — including resume analysis, performance reports, and interview feedback — are for informational and guidance purposes only.
• We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated content for any specific job application, employer, or professional context.
• You retain full ownership of the content you upload. AI-generated outputs derived from your content are yours to use, subject to these Terms.
• Your uploaded content and personal data are never used to train AI models.
• Always review AI-generated content before using it professionally or submitting it to employers.

11Intellectual Property

• MockGen's branding, UI design, source code, AI prompt architecture, and non-user-generated content are proprietary and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
• You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, scrape, or create derivative works from the Service without explicit written permission.
• You grant MockGen a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to process and store your uploaded content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

12Account Suspension & Termination

• We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for violations of these Terms, fraudulent activity, chargeback disputes, or abuse of the Service.
• Upon termination, your access to the Service will cease immediately. Any unused subscription time or credits are forfeited and non-refundable.
• You may delete your account at any time by contacting us. Upon deletion, your data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
• Accounts suspended for policy violations are not eligible for refunds of any kind.

13Service Availability

• We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access to the Service.
• The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned outages, or failures in third-party infrastructure (including Firebase, Razorpay, or AI providers).
• We are not liable for any loss or inconvenience caused by service interruptions.

14Limitation of Liability

• The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
• MockGen is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including career or employment outcomes based on AI-generated analysis.
• Our total liability to you for any claim arising from use of the Service shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 30 days preceding the claim.

15Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

• These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
• Before initiating any legal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at [email protected] to attempt resolution in good faith.

16Changes to These Terms

• We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address at least 7 days before taking effect.
• Minor clarifications or corrections may be made without prior notice.
• Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when these Terms were last revised.
